Share Yourself Through WordPress and Song

Combining WordPress and SongThis weekend I had the opportunity to attend and speak at a WordPress event, called WordCamp Orange County. I learned, I taught and I listened. And then, I was amazed. I saw my good friend, Bridget Willard, sing karaoke for the very first time.

You see Bridget hasn’t had the easiest time lately. Her husband died just over a month ago. That one single event flip flopped her life and caused so much change. As she has wrestled with what and how she would move forward, several truths have been clear. Bridget loves people and community. Bridget accepts challenges with grace and strength. Bridget loves WordPress.

Due to these truths, Bridget is well loved and supported in the WordPress community.

Still, having the courage to stand before your peers and karaoke for the first time is extremely challenging. However, since Bridget loves WordPress and song, she did it. She sang Otis Redding’s, “Sitting at the Top of the Bay” and truly “rocked” it! Check out her performance below.

Great job, Bridget!! You are an inspiration to all of us.

  1. Jen,

If I think about this too much, I’ll break down in tears. Thank you for your friendship and to you and Elizabeth for helping me fit in better to the WordPress community.

    I cherish our friendship.
