As you build your business and yourself in your industry, you really have two choices, you can BE SEEN or be invisible.
And it’s not just about your “physical” state – you can be seen or be invisible virtually, too.
Most virtual venues allow you to set your availability status or check in. You can choose the default, show a custom message or remain unseen on:
- Instant Messengers
- Chat
- You Name It
How do you set your status?
Are you sending the message that you are “Available” or too “Busy” for opportunities?
Perhaps you prefer to remain “Invisible” waiting and watching, hoping business will just breeze in.
Maybe if you’re really good, business magically appears. However, if you’re really good, you know that you need to be continually moving forward and building to reach your goals. More than likely, maybe even unknowingly, you are employing techniques that allow you to be seen.
So the Real Question is… Be Seen or Be Invisible?
At NeedSomeoneToBlog.com, we encourage clients to be noticed in their industry, to BE SEEN.
Recently a personal experience made the importance of this very clear to me. And it happened in all places, in a discussion at the park with my 5 year old son, “Mom,” he said, explaining the rules of the game, “You make yourself invisible so no one can ‘see’ you!”
It started me wondering about whether or not I wanted to be invisible.
I began to think on all the ways that people and businesses make themselves invisible, rather than choosing to be seen. From my park adventure of wearing sunglasses and a hat to the simple marking of a status as “invisible” in an email account, there are times when we purposely choose not to be seen.
Maybe for you the invisibility cloak is simply choosing not to take advantage of marketing techniques that can enhance your search engine visibility, like blogging. If so, I’d encourage you to take steps to remedy that.
Obviously as a ghostwriter and ghostblogger, I understand the need to be “invisible” at times. It may seem odd to you that a writer who requires no byline would encourage the visibility of your business blog. However, I enjoy being an unseen team member or silent partner when it comes to building your blog. I get extreme satisfaction from seeing your success.
But, I also like to experience success and at NeedSomeoneToBlog.com, I am all about being seen.
Perhaps you are at a phase in your life where being invisible works, but if you’d like to gain search engine visibility and grow your business, choose to be seen with NeedSomeoneToBlog.com through ghostblogging or blog coaching.
